INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY DENTAL INSURANCE - NJ

Many dental plans are broken down into the following categories:

PREVENTIVE includes cleanings, oral exams, and X-rays.  Fluoride and sealant services for children (age limits apply) may be included. 

BASIC includes services such as fillings and simple tooth extractions, usually covered at 80% depending on the chosen policy. 

MAJOR includes services such as bridges, dentures, and crowns, usually covered at 50% depending on the policy chosen. 

PEDIATRIC COVERAGE (up to age 19) -  Different out-of-pocket maximums, and policy limits. May also include orthodontic coverage.

Waiting periods and annual deductibles may apply for services in certain categories.  Additionally, many plans have an annual benefit limit.
